Philanthropy Project

Each year VAASL supports a charitable organization during the fall season in conjunction with the annual fall conference. This year’s charitable organization is InspireLit (https://www.inspirelit.org) an Alexandria based non-profit that provides books to students and teachers via free book fairs, classroom libraries,  and sharing shelves in preschools and rec centers.

Ways to Support VAASL Philanthropy Committee Projects

1. VAASL Shirt Sale: Show your librarian spirit and support a good cause by purchasing a t-shirt or sweatshirt with either the classic heart logo or this year’s conference logo. Items will be shipped to you. At the conference, you can check out sample sizes at the Membership table. Sale ends Friday, Nov. 3rd!

2. Fall Conference 50/50 Raffle: Bring cash to the conference so you can buy raffle tickets. There will be two drawings (Thursday and Friday). Tickets can be purchased at the Membership Table (near Registration) or from roaming sellers. Look for the 50/50 headbands!

3. Book Drive: Please bring new books (preschool-grade 8) to the conference. There will be a collection box near the VAASL Membership table. If you forget, you can purchase books from one of the vendors in the exhibition hall.
